Maybe that is why Indians are so successful and have good family values. Many of them still believes in multigenerational households. When I visited India two years ago, everyone I met lived in a multigenerational household.

Hearing this hurts. Your mom was being very generous and for people to do that is sickening. People makes you want to hate them and there is not enough grace to forgive those kinds of people.

@anhtang4402 I agree. Not only emotionally, but educationally and it also builds their immune system being around other kids. When I was looking for schools for my kid, I was told about the Montessori schools that keeps 3 different grades in some classes because their method is kids can learn from other kids. I didn’t opt in because of location to my home and hours they were opened and I/we picked a private Christian school instead. Disclaimer, this was over 20 years ago. I have no idea what is happening in those schools today.

This is a ‘complicated’ issue because there are women who wants to work outside the home. Costs are a major problem and I believe competition can reduce the costs, if done correctly. I hate to hear how some people want to act like working women is something new. All of my life, all the women in my family, especially mothers, worked outside the home. My friends moms works as well. Working moms were the norm not stay at home moms. With that said, anything the government gets involved in gets corrupted, the costs goes up and the quality goes down. We do not need government intervention for this area.
