  1. As a black female retired veteran, my anthem is THE NATIONAL ANTHEM. It brings me to tears now more than ever because it reminds me of my retirement ceremony when Old Glory poem and the 13 folds were recited, being saluted from people representing my different ranks that ended when I handed it to my child. As for Lift Every Voice And Sing, that will always be a church Hymn, that was in my Lutheran Hymn Book, that can also be found in many traditional white European churches Hymn Books.
