  1. Yes, school choice have a negative historical context. As a black woman, I am a product of public schools and school choice. All of the schools we (my siblings and I, including my brothers) attended were schools outside of our neighborhood district our entire lives, whether it was elementary school, junior high, or high school. We went to the schools because my mom decided to used family’s addresses to put us in the schools near her work not our house and it was never the schools zone for our house. In other words, back in the 70s and 80s, we were participating in school choice/parental choice.

  2. I hope she, her son and family will acclimate to that religious school and not try to change or protest its Christian philosophy. The sad part is she is probably going to give that catholic school hell. Now, her complain about schools, grocery stores, whah, whah, whah, in her neighborhood are obsolete, well Dems have been in charge of Chicago and Illinois for decades. Why haven’t they fix it yet? They want to cry about systemic problems but never mentions how they have been charge for decades. Why haven’t she used her position in the union to FIX THE DAMN PROBLEM she is complaining about?

  3. Isn’t it obvious, there are different rules for them but not for you. Listen to Dems when they talk because they are great at deflection and projection. She said private schools are racists and where schools are segregated so she sent her kid there because she wanted her kid in a segregated school but not base on race, base on class. The city of Chicago is paying $38,000 per student every year. $38,000. Meanwhile, her kid private school is $16,000, half of public scrappy school. The question is what is the city of Chicago school district doing with that money?
