Maybe elected officials and local leaders should invest in getting better school systems which can help black people more than giving people money when they can’t even effectively manage what they have now. Those same leaders need to ensure people understand opportunities exists when you personal responsibility is taken seriously and work hard not when you claim to be want status base on being a victim.

  3.  @michaell8184  No one is denying those events happened. At what point are you going to learn from history to use it as guide and stop using it as an excuse. My ex family is from Oklahoma, some in Tulsa area doing well as homeowners; as a homeowner myself, once while married, now as a single woman, I had the option to use FHA (good for low income people) but VA was better and with that said, I used the GI bill for years up to a MBA. And as a person in my position, I helped others to achieve what I did. My point, yes, people were/are taken advantage of but if people keep using it as an excuse, they will not go anywhere. Fight for what you want, nothing is given and nothing worthy is easy to get. There are many people today who came from bad circumstances, learned, and made their lives better for themselves and their family. Maybe you should use that ‘get educated’ as a way to educate yourself for a better quality of life and when you get it, help others get it too.
