Mom have a point. But for me it started when my child was applying for college. We were taught if you work hard in high and excel with your grades, you will get scholarships. That is not so anymore. Even schools with billion dollar endowments, they give the money to wealthy, (remember the college scandal?) or to low income people who don’t have the high achieving school resume. As for the costs of housing, if politicians don’t stop their big donors (blackrock) from buying up property, home prices will never be affordable for people to buy. My child is renting an apartment for more than I pay for a mortgage. But buying is not affordable for young adults entering the job market.
