Congratulations! You were able to do 30 years. I retired at 20, at the first opportunity, instead of 24 because I saw what was coming over 10 years ago. Yeah, I could have retired with more money but my sanity was worth more and I couldn’t play that game anymore.

@steffanshade3969 I am so sorry for all servicemembers today. We know it is not the majority on the bottom who are ruining it but this is all coming from the top. It is so sad they are willing to ruin this once most respected organizations for a promotion and job security to a defense contracting agency when they retired.

This general is out of place and is everything wrong with the military today. As a retired military member, when you are up for advancement/promotion, your personal life should not be a factor, it is your professional knowledge, leadership, job accomplishments, quality of work, etc. Nothing about yours or you family sexuality is evaluated. If people don’t want to move to certain states, that’s on them. This ‘being yourself’ is such bs. No male body should be allowed in female spaces under the guise of ‘being themselves.’ All of those women in leadership are failing women.
