I served 20 years in the U. S. Navy. The unspoken rule not to discuss three topics, one being politics. The direction this country is going scares me because the people in power now wants to judge people base on their political affiliation, how much they align to identity politics and not their character. This is not what I/we fought for.

@bjmartin6684 Thank you for your service. Yes, the US is going through a major shift. It really upsets me how many of those who haven’t serve, is trying to limit, censor, ban and ostracize many people including those of us who served. I served so people, even if I don’t agree with their opinions, to have the right to say stupid sh!t. But this new bred just want to shutdown opposition. The future is bleak.

@bjmartin6684 I understand. I served for 20 years and totally understand it’s not easy and you work for those resources. I remember saying numerous times, my then 10 year old was more mature than 18-21 years old. I felt like a babysitter at times because, like you said, they came with no home training. I spoke to parents when their kids went UA. I taught a 22 year old how to wash and iron his uniform. I have lots more stories. Some were helped, some weren’t.

@belladrapeau8234 I agree. When my socialist child talks about wanting free college tuition, medical and affordable housing, I responded, they should go in the military where they can get all of that free. But like you said, they don’t respect anyone in authority.
