  2. The unique feature of former USSR Slavic countries is that for the last 20 years or so, even the deepest outskirts stay so peaceful, that you might require serious effort to get beat up or bullied, robbed there. We're just harmless to foreigners, for some reason.

  6.  @super8guy  gop-stop - Russian slang term for robbery and/or getting mugged (jumped). Gop! is a substitute exclamation for Jump! Of course the term gop-stop is at least a century old. The exclamation Gop! is several centuries old. We have a saying "Don't say gop until you jump over" which means "dont halloo until you're out of the woods", and its older than USSR.
