  1. My Mom and I took the train from LA to Salem Or. I was 37 at the time and I could climb up to the top bunk but there is no way I could do that today. On the way home another train derailed inside a tunnel, so the minimum wait was 36 hours. They backed up the train to Eugene and we waited for hours for them to locate a bus to take us to Sacramento no food no sleepers.
