Not cheating, "open relationship" with permission
16
Typical reddit comment reducing adult topics to boardgames and TV shows. Grow up.

@jwonder7618 because no one owes any stalking creeps "manners".
10
@eugenefirebird8938 The Chicxulub impact was the energy equivalent of 100,000,000 megatons. Not comparable as nukes would not be lifting particulates into the stratosphere like that.
9
@Nick-of8zo what you should be concerned about is the supply chain disruption. Modern farming is an industrial process that relies on a lot of chemical processing and machinery. Just look at the effect on potatoes when Belarus was no longer able to supply potash to global markets. Water has never been a big concern with fallout more things that it concentrates in.
9
this is why I absolutely hate those boomers that deride the duck and cover drills they had to do. The amount of damage just flying glass does in building bombings is ridiculous, not to mention flash burns that the flimsiest of materials can protect you from (eg the Hiroshima maiden photo showing the dress pattern burns). Imagine having to care for one of your family members with those burns with no chance of real medical care that would normally save them then die of infection over the next two weeks.
9
Going to be hilarious if the first one is off course (and they are not 100% accurate) and you get to lie there blind with flash burns hearing your wife's horrible screams until the next one hits.

Silicon Valley said it again and again.... put radio on the internet
6
And the people in the southern hemisphere
6
Not Russian operations involving Americans, that is the FBIs area of responsibility.
6
@Zummbot youtube doesnt like links being posted, pretty easy to google through...
5
What a lot of people do not understand is the less serious burns allow infection to set, this normally is not such a problem for many burn victims due to access to prompt medical care and supplies however in a nuclear attack scenario no such care would be possible on the required scale. The flimsiest of barriers can provide protection from these burns, a good example id the picture of a Hiroshima maiden with the fabric pattern of her dress burned into her skin.
5
@sonnylambert4893 Will be contained mostly in the north due to air currents. Supply chain disruption however will take a huge toll.
5
@tjacksondolph4026 kind of hypocritical for her to act so pious and gossipy over his attempts to cheat when that was an open secret.
5
Are the target staff allowed to shoot customers on Black Friday? Those people behave really quick when the gloves come off.
4
@jasonkloos6348 no that is when you are talking about around the ten megaton range and while there have been some famous tests that high no one has actually deployed weapons with that kind of yield.
4
@conorredmond6217 which wont happen because most cities are not built like early 20th century Japan. Even Nagasaki failed to generate a firestorm.
3
@MrMotorNerd Pine Gap is in the middle of nowhere.
3
incorrect, they didn't all die in the war many died as children during the famines.
3
I think not so much controversial as proven false. This guy now claiming that things would be worse is just bullshit.
3
And it's crap.
3
The were making a joke.
3
On the plane to Hawaii, her bull was also in Hawaii.
2
What is an example of one of his bad takes?
2
@pingamalinga read about the jet stream champ.
2
@jirik2435 you realise civilian existed the southern hemisphere thousands of years ago?
2
Yes, only people previously employed by FEMA will be permitted to help. Everyone else will have to stand to the side helplessly.
2
Who cares? That is the reason why it is in the middle of nowhere. RAAF Tindal however...
2
@RichardChappell1 so enlighten us all on what detailed knowledge you have on these drills. I am dying to know.
2
@Omegazstar Can you read mate?
2
@laurakain1524 lol it doesn't matter if it was rescinded, not his idea or if he couldn't do anything with anyone. No cheating if he gave permission.
2
Wow great counterpoint @Snarkonymous
2
You may think you "own" it because it is registered but you wont find out until you need to defend it in court against someone saying it is too generic.
2
False.
1
Nope. Not in the southern hemisphere
1
@yogistogi jet streams.
1
@yogistogi so explain how all of the knowledge of these engineers, doctors, toolmakers, engineers etc is going to be lost when there are many firms and universities full of such professionals dotted all around the southern hemisphere?
1
@yogistogi well, think about it, you might not know but a Nigerian engineer will. A Chilean professor of medicine will be able to train new doctors, an Australian chemical engineer will be able to refine fuels etc. You do however touch on supply chain disruption which will put things back a bit but not on the scale you are trying to argue. There is no way things are going to revert back past eighties or seventies level of technology.
1
@yogistogi and that simply isn't true, so the scenario is basically a fantasy of yours. The southern hemisphere would avoid nuclear winter even in the worst case scenario. None of things you mention would be lost if the north was affected. You just aren't that important.
1
Also the assumption of all of these fire storms is bullshit. This same group of scientists made some very grave predictions when Saddam Hussein set the Kuwaiti oil wells alight and had egg on their faces when they didn't happen.
1
@Muschelschubs3r What part of "nuclear winter is bullshit because they wont send anywhere near the amounts of particulates into the stratosphere" don't you understand?
1
@AboutDaWorld lol was he? What a knob.
1
Or they think they are about to die anyway. Both Putin and Xi are more afraid of their own people more than anyone else.
1
That is actually a thing they do to throw you off, overload you with caffeine and sugar to make you jittery.
1
I'm sure when she comes back to sell a book about asteroids she will find sources that support what she wants too.
1
It is.
1
@carlrichards5207 no it was not the level of radiation it was the AMOUNT of fallout.
1
Yes British leftists were spreading propaganda. And no they would not be using troops to shoot the injured they would be busy performing urgent tasks that would not sort themselves like the aforementioned story.
1
"Simple" is the wrong term
1
@pingamalinga wrong. What are air currents?
