  1. It would remove the need for any of this providing the battery was the same type. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE BATTERY THAT TALKS TO THE ECU, so the ECU doesn't adjust anything in a dynamic way for charging, or alter charging patterns based on age - that is all rubbish to add extra costs to a simple replacement job.
