  1. This air pollution thing is absolute nonsense. The public are being scammed by councils who do NOT need to keep contracting out services to their friends companies to get results they can ALREADY ACCESS. For those that do not know, and anyone working for Councils who are clueless - DEFRA is a Government Department that has run monitoring stations for air quality in the UK since the 1940s. The monitors are in most town and city centres and on busy main roads. All the data from these for each area showing hundreds of gases and particulates is available to the public and councils free of charge. I looked at it for research during lockdown. I found NO difference in air quality between before, during and after lockdown. Liverpool City Council lied saying there were high pollution levels, but suddenly went quiet when DEFRA Air Quality Monitoring Station data was mentioned, they couldn't lie to start awarding contracts to mates or apply for government grants. They're looking for any old excuse to add taxes and charges and price people off the roads. They tried this by paving over lanes on very busy high flowing main roads, stopped people turning right, removed filter lanes and put traffic lights on timers. Notice how they got upset when people bought log burners, it meant less people paying for fuel!!!
