That one will cost a MINIMUM of £36,000, possibly more now. That's if you pay in one go, finance over a few years will cost a total of nearly £40,000 includng the cost of the car. Is it really worth it as Vauxhall still lie, claiming this will travel 256miles using just the engine with one gallon of petrol. That is the only LEGAL definition of Miles Per Gallon in the UK. If I carried 20 gallons of fuel in the boot and didn't use it, I would not be able to add that 20 to the MPG figure! We all know that's a lie, a completely false figure. The MPG for this is nearer 28MPG in town and 45MPG at 60MPH, reducing as speed goes higher or with lower speed town driving and stop/start driving in traffic.
The 180BHP quoted is combined for the engine and electric motor output, not the engine alone.
Vauxhall are very clever when it comes to vague wording - just as they were when the TV adverts for the Ampera were taken off for being misleading, they were suggesting that the 1.4 16v petrol engine was only a generator being used to charge a battery and the car was driven by electric motor - they completely forgot that there was a direct mechanical connection from the engine output to the CVT gearbox!
People reviewing the cars should take time to find out the correct information, not repeat the vague press pack info just to get a free car to use for a few weeks.
There are better electric cars available.
