Trying to register using Tor is impossible now, unless you lower your security and let them run scripts that phone home to report your real IP ! Stick wireshark on. At the moment it comes up with the error "No authentication method available".

It's not secure really is it. There is no standard of encryption between email providers, so all your emails go in clear text in and out of their spam filters. Your clear text email goes in to the service, goes through a spam filter, then gets encrypted for you to read. When email goes out, it goes in clear text... All your email is logged and stored BY LAW by ProtonMail...for Law Enforcement. Don't be fooled. They also need to link your phone and credit or debit cards or paypal to your account for law enforcement. E2E is a false claim, so is secure.

Oh dear! Email encryption ? When email comes from anyone else it is in plain text, when it leaves tutanota it goes out in plain text. There is no agreed standard for encrypting emails between providers. The only encryption is client to server, nothing else.

It's the next EncroChat...

UK Banks and financial people BLOCK ProtonMail. I found this when I tried using an account.

With access granted to NSA and GCHQ.

None of the accounts are anonymous, they are all linked to a phone number that gives a precise location and/or a payment method that is traced to you like a debit card, credit card or paypal. They also scan all your plain text emails as they leave and arrive at the servers before and after they encrypt and decrypt them. It's one massive honeypot - the next EncroChat.

email goes in plain text after it is decoded to leave the server and go on to the recipient server. So you get it right, from your system to the email service it goes encrypted, then it gets decrypted before forwarding on to a different ISP or email service. When your email from another person arrives, it is in plain text, it gets encrypted and sent to you. All law enforcement does is monitor the input and output of ProtonMail as it is all in clear text. ProtonMail also refuses to release some code relating to this, lying about how people would work out how they scammed all your emails for spam for example. So they scan and collect and manipulate data when it is in the clear. They are correct that they can not read your email AFTER it is encrypted, but they can when it is decrypted! It is a play on words, vague language is used in order to confuse and try and suggest a different meaning was intended. It is the next EncroChat, you will see once the investigation is made public.
