this was a very informative video :) did't know you could do a slideshow this easy with ffmpeg

suse is a head with btrfs integration then Fedora, opensuse has automatic snapshot when zypper is run so if a update goes bad, you can easy rollback to the snapshot before you ran zypper when the computer is booting up. Fedora has not implemented something like this yet.

Thanks for the video 👍 i have recently started to use qutebrowser so this video is helping me out with how to play with mpv on youtube 🙂
6
i have never watched it, but i have it on dvd :) maybe it's time now
4
nice review but just a tip, you should have showed how to add the packman repo so you can install vlc, mpv, steam and so on :)
4
Hi mattew and you made a good and interesting video, thank you 😀
4
is it me or does it seems like Serge is talking to Derek as he had no computer skills at all? i noticed that sometimes under the video
4
@Doriandotslash Good to hear :) i have no need either to change away from Debian it does the job well and really stable, i'm just doing updates and get on with my work as OS should do :)
4
do you have any plans to checkout crux? "CRUX is a lightweight Linux distribution for the x86-64 architecture targeted at experienced Linux users"
4
@distrotube, what programs do you use when you are using a tling wm? I mean like filemanager, pdf viewer and so on :)
3
nice to see a slackware video, my only complain on this video however is that you did't show the package mananger the zenwalk: Netpkg package manager or App Outlet for flatpaks
3
what is the main difference between kitty vs alacritty?
3
you will have more updates if you are not using a snapshot repo for debian, and instead enable /etc/sources.list.d/debian-testing.list it seems like it has a # so it disabled :)
3
if you get tired of using the gtk2 version of libreoffice. you can install libreoffice-gtk3 to get the gtk3 version instead :)
3
Budgie looks pretty good actually, but i think i will stay on my debian 9 and Mate :)
3
i know the feeling, be glad that you wont use gnome in 2019 either :)
3
gnome 3 is not my cup of tea, so im using Mate and it's so much better and uses the classic desktop paradigm :)
3
weird, i have now watched your video and it definitly looks a beta with all the quirks you had and glitching. So why are they saying it's not a beta when it feels like it :)
3
we have had around 30c since may in here in sweden :( i'm not that fond of this hot weather, i like it around 20c and cloudy :)
2
yeah watch alpine on the raspberry pi would be great to see a video on
2
but this is just around gaming and not everyone that uses a distro does game and have steam installed and the report is based on. So it's a small % of all the users that the chart is based on. So not sure if Arch is the new ubuntu outside the gaming world? :)
2
Hi serge! thanks for your answer :) Maybe i took the impression wrong on my end hehe.
2
Debian on your machines is no more then? :(
2
bluestarlinux have some fixes they need todo before it's more userfriendly, fix the panel glitch, easier way to reach the installer, and remove the password for the lockscreen :)
2
awesome thanks :) it's a nice distro, i'm running it on my laptop
2
it is a source-based distro yes, but it does not have USE-Flags and OpenRC and such
2
i think the sluggines is beacuse fedora has wayland as default and vbox is not liking it?
2
DorianDotSlash haha nice glad you could fix it, weird that is was disabled to begin with, but maybe netrunner is using the snapshot instead and let the user enable the regular debian repo if they want so:)
2
DorianDotSlash No problems! now let us hold our thumbs that your system will not crash all flat and die after the updates :)
2
your next window manager is.... gnome shell with mutter? :)
2
how is KDE for you now when you have been running it for a while? are you thinking it is ok?
2
You have very good videos on i3wm and things around that, which is what i'm using as well :) so keep the good work up!
1
nice video, just wanted to left a note about phones, you are right with that apple wan'ts you to upgrade to the latest iphone after a while. But with a Android phone you stops getting updates very fast, and the phone get's no security updates or newer android versions ever. until you buy a new android phone. But with iphone you will get updates longer even on older modells.
1
wow that was very cool Jerry :)
1
nice work Jay you got on this channel :) I like the way you are, taking no shit from anyone! Keep it up man :)
1
i run a PCengine APU2 at my home with pfsense it has been working for years, pcengine makes nice machines.
1
@DistroTube Thanks will do that 👍
1
nice video, very good information :)
1
Garuda style is to weird for me and pretty chilidish, it’s perfect distro for all the younger audience.
1
this garuda linux, is not for my liking everything looks a bit childish and something for teenagers with the look and feel. But hey everyone can't like the same thing though :)
1
crux packagemanager is fast as well, with pkgmk or prt-get :)
1
CRUX is awesome :)
1
nice video :) i'm using straight debian 9 on my laptop and it works very good, stable :) maybe you issue with the titlebar disappeing has something todo with "Allow applications to block compositing" in display under KDE settings?
1
hehe beacuse of your videos of KDE lately, i has as well installed KDE on debian 9 to try it out and so far i'm liking it a lot actually, it has come a long way since kde 3.5, i skipped kde4
1
you can do the same from ubuntu mini.iso and build it up from scratch and build the system as you want.
1
A note on Iphones, currently IOS 15 is still supporting iphone 6S and that phone is from 2015. So that is a lot longer then a few years talked about in the video. Android how ever is the one who has bad support of the os only 3 years and some has only one andorid update and nothing more.
1
my favorite distro is Debian Stable and MATE or i3-wm i have both installed :)
1
Luke Smith: how do you acess network shares in ranger? maybe i need to add my samba share in fstab first?
1
Love these kinds of videos 😀
1
that would be interesting to see that 1week update video if you came around to do that :)
1
Haha nice i will watch that later today :P
1
i would't recommend Manjaro as a beginner distro, beacuse of the rolling nature and maybe updates bugs now and then, and beginners are not that good to know what have gone wrong and how to fix it.
1
what de and distro are you using? :) on the host machine. And on the sudo problem, in the installer skip the root account creation, just press enter and do not fill any password the root account will then be disabled. and the regular user will auto get the sudo privilges.
