@jorgecaballero6215 No, it was in March of 2001. The first version, which mounted a Zeiss sight, was a good weapon, comparable to the German Kar-98K Mauser that inspired it. It was used until the 1980s for instruction and is still used in parades.
The next one was manufactured during the years of economic blockade, which made it difficult to produce in general, was supposed to be a transitional model and there was no longer any danger of going to war at that time. Furthermore, the sights were replaced by the previous Zeiss, which were smuggled, the Japanese ones were for instruction.
Even so, it is a rare case that the army approves a low-quality weapon. Spain has always had and exports high-quality weapons; it is between sixth to eighth largest exporter in the world.
