Americans claiming gun ownership makes you safer debunked... If people are able to rob a gun store at gun point, driving off with 70 firearms to land on the street, it proves that being armed or surrounded with guns doesn't protect you from crime at all. In fact, there are now even more guns in the criminal circuit over there...

BenjoBanjo 0161 US has the highest homicide rate for a 'developed' country in the world dude.

BenjoBanjo 0161 I'm comparing the US to its peers, on a subject that is quite heavily influenced by gun ownership. Homicide rate. School shootings. Gun safety accidents involving children. Police brutality. All topics directly linked to an increased amount of guns in the streets, in which the US is scoring very very very bad compared to the EU-countries and even Canada. Pretending like the insane amount of privately owned firearms isn't part of the cause of that problem is ridiculous. For instance: police over here don't need to be militarised, as civillians in general don't have access to military grade (semi)-automatic weaponry. Resulting in less police violence and less violent protest. The BLM-protests were a clear example of the US using their own military against the protesting civillians, who in turn were heavily armed. In my country things simply cannot escalate like that, because not everyone has access to firearms. The only thing privately owned firearms is bringing to your democracy is an even more militarized police system, which is used to protect those in power and the rich, and fails to protect those who are not. The US is a failed state, partly because private gun ownership and the citizens are too dense and keen on their guns to notice it.

BenjoBanjo 0161 Also, you are pretending WWII could only have been prevented by privately owned guns (an insane thought with no evidence to support it), while we are in fact making sure it never happens again through international public law (the European Union) which has at its core principles democratic values. Pretending guns in every home are a solution instead of a problem is barbaric.
