  1. Last Saturday I had to drive some 40km home on battery only, since the tensioner on my 1995 Golf III failed and the engine wasn't turning the generator anymore. I guess, this means the battery is quite good, we are obliged to use headligths at all times, besides it times I needed to turn the wipers on (they moved really sloooooow), and after all that battery was at 11,4V. P.S. Before that I had a weird problem with idle revs dropping when AC is turned off, which seemed to be weird, it should drop when another device is turned on, not off, I think, so it's sort of counter intuitive. Besides, there was some noise, not exactly squeaking, but a noise, when taking foot of the accelerator, which might be connected to the issue... or not. Got to see what changes after fixing it.
