  1. That's cultural. My mother-in-law is Russian and grew up in Russia, but moved in her mid 20s. After visiting Russia, she was joking, it would be easy to spot a foreign spy - getting off a public transport, some locals threw used tickets rght on the ground, while she leaves that scrap of paper in her pocket. I'm not saying it's all clean and tidy here in Latvia, but one of things uniting people here is the annual great spring cleanup (lielā talka), people participate in it voluntarily, whole families do, to clean up neighbourhood.
