  1. Five isn't all that impressive. My first girlfriends spoke five languages, not all of them absolutely fluently, but good enough. To this day I feel a bit inferior, as even two decades later I still speak only three. Besides two of them I've known since childhood, so in a way I only learned one - English. Plus I know some miserable scraps of two more languages on basic / sub-basic level. P.S. I should add, that I am from a small nation, thus knowing at least one foreign language is a must, and knowing two or three is pretty much the norm. And yes, it's not exactly a good feeling to receive a compliment on my English (from non-native speakers), when I know and feel how much i's still lacking. Besides I got terrible accent.
