Nah, BMWs are special. Like people used to work with VAG cars tried to fix BMW, there was a lot of swearing and screams "Why dud they make it this way?!" and "Their diagnostics software is the most retarded of them all!" 😆 On the other hand, there are guys specialised in working with BMW only, they love them, they know their typical issues and how to fix those.

@Knives7777 Depends. Here in Europe at least it got to be simpler to fix them, since those cars are really common. However, since they have gotten so complicated in electronics, repair shops started to specialise, before many fixed everything - Soviet, German, British Italian, French cars. Now they choose one brand or a family of brands they are working with, like it's not even German cars as a whole, but either BMW or VAG cars.

@juerbert1 My AUDI is in service right now - in a former ex-Soviet country. 😆 German cars are really common here, so it's less of an issue, after all, we are not all that far from Germany itself, and often we can get used parts, when new are not an option. Sure, sometimes it might be a dead end, like the lights on tailgate of my station wagon might be insanely hard to find, if they get damaged (which is a common issue), as they are in high demand. Might be as bad as having to fix the ones I got.
