47 thousandth miles?! That's 75'000km, thus at least 7,5 times longer on the same oil I would have let it run, it's awful! Just how?!
P.S. And I currently drive almost 20 years old AUDI with aluminium block engine, which are FAMOUS for oil consumption, and it's nowhere as bad as this one (I'm adding around 250-310ml per 1000km, which is around half quart per 1000 miles, and even that might soon be fixed to some degree), despite the fact, that AUDI was quite neglected by previous owners, judging by the state of plugs, foggy headlights, dark gearbox liquid and wheel alignment when I got it. I get that people neglect old cars (especially former luxury cars - car is old and cheap, yet maintenance is expensive), because they have no money to do everything properly, but damaging a new one can't be explained by anything else than stupidity.
