  1. Reading through commentaries, I saw one about mine plows and rollers, and realised, that IEDs are often (perhaps mostly or even always) detonated by a person through wires or radio. Thus IEDs can't be destroyed by simple mechanical devices as landmines would be. Besides the blast is sort of targeted. Of course, both those factors make them even more dangerous.
