#5 does not need to be preemptive. It doesn't matter that Germans did not know of Soviet plans, it's just that one aggressor was a bit faster, and Nazi empire hit before Soviet empire did. Pure luck. Only 2157 tanks. "ONLY". Really? And how many tanks, Stugs and other armour did Germans got in total? And it's not really true, that they had ammunition and fuel in short supply, it just wasn't transported (not yet) to where the tanks were stationed at that moment. Why? Because USSR has just invaded and occupied large territories in the West, thus their forces moved West leaving their infrastructure behind. Simply put - hadn't Soviets have invaded Poland, Baltic states, Romania and Finland, they would have been in much, much better position, besides German supply lines would be more stretched, which would put Germans even more into disadvantage.

@ВячеславСкопюк Sure, just amassing of Soviet forces on western borders and had nothing, but attacks planned to "repel German aggression". P.S. Those plans might be real defense plans, but that would only mean one thing - Soviet high command were complete idiots. They presumed, that Germans would attack and then... stop. Why? For no reason, really. And the Soviets would "counterattack" and defeat Nazis on German soil. "Surprise!" "Surprise!" Germans were not aware of their part in this play, and did not follow this scenario.

@ВячеславСкопюк Really? No, I haven't forgot, that "that country" was waging war on tanks fuelled by Soviet gasoline and supplied by other materials. I also haven't forgot that USSR in a span of a mere year invaded six neighbouring countries, dividing one with Nazis, according to their deal, completely occupying and incorporating three more, and snatching some parts of two more countries.
