Besides not being sufficient by time and frequency, Soviet/Russian "exercises" are not really meant to learn and train, they initially were a show for guys of Communist party put on by military, so the top brass would be rewarded for successful finishing of exercises and demonstration of (supposed) readiness of Soviet armed forces. In reality it meant crap like putting concrete slabs on the bottom of river in advance of exercises, so tanks doing underwater crossing of river would not sunk in mud. Every soldier was trained to shoot at certain target at certain time, there was nothing unexpected, it was a spectacle. And Russia is keeping this tradition, which can be hilarious on TV, like last year or in 2021 (before invasion) some tank crews demonstrated their (dis)ability to hit targets with cannon-launched missiles. They missed. Yet commentator congratulated them on successfully scoring all hits and praised their high skills, as there was no place for failure on the show.
The result is interesting:
1) soldiers don't actually learn even their own part, and it's even worse with combined arms tactics;
2) high command may have the illusion, like troops are battle ready, when it's not really true.

12:12 - That seems to be BS, especially the part about Ka-52 lost, as most of those, if not all of them, were downed by short range AA weapons, like "Stinger", "Igla" and other MANPADS, even worse - supposedly well protected Ka-52 can be damaged by 7,62mm bullets, that was discovered really early in the war. So, just like it was said in the video - Russian a-holes seem to exaggerate proportion of fratricide losses, as they are ashamed to admit losses inflicted upon them by Ukrainians.
BTW, it's not "rhy-bahr", it's hard "Y" and soft "R", neither of those sounds are used in English.
