Unlike in Ukraine, it would be MUCH harder for Russian fascist invaders to pretend to be local militia in any of three Baltic states, as they have no Soviet weaponry left, thus no claims of "trophies taken from gpvernment fprces" are possible, like they did it in the East of Ukraine 2014-2022.
And yes, Russia is sort of important in Latvian economy, however notice, how Russia is only #5 there, not #1 despite being th ebiggest meihbour. And it's not just because Russia runs batshit crazy politics, but also because Russia is a broke as shithole - they simply don't have all that much money, to be worthy partners, unlike Nordic coutries and Gernamy.

Well, war underground can't really reach you (other than some insurgents infiltrating you city's communications below). And whoever controls surface will take upper hand anyway, as "moles" need supplies, so this does not render aviation and tanks absolete, this just demands special training for infantry. Also, infantry will not arrive on spot walking on foot, s again we will still need water, ground and air transport, and that will need cover, so tanks, CAS and armed ships will still be there.
BTW, given historical record of fighting undergournd and in caves, what about flamethrovers?

It really feels like American command yet again has fallen for the fairy tale of sharp shooter superiority over ability to use suppressive fire, once upon a time this misguided belief led them into adopting 7.62x51 round and M14 rifle, which later got partially fixed by switching to M16 - still too long, so it evolved into M4.
I do agree, that US troops will not be forced into trench warfare, as, unlike Ukrainians and Russians, they almost certainly will have complete air dominance, however that also means increased range is not all that much needed and close air support and artillery will likely take out bigger targets before infantry even encounters them, which often will leave infantry with a cumbersome weapon in close quarters fighting indoors and they will hate it, but yes, they should love the occasional ability to turn some BMP into a wreck reminding a tea strainer or a pepper box, yet one is only occasional, while the need to clear out building from adversaries will be in demand often.
