5:57 - no, I do not carry a firearm, only a knife (and even that not so much for self-defence really), as one can get a permit in my country, it isn't even insanely hard, my father-in-law had a pistol for a while (used PM pistols here are quite cheap), but it's not worth it due to a lot of paperwork and low crime rate. So he gave up on that gun and gave away gun cabinet to us, now we store candies there safe from our kid.

One correction - one of allied nations was not Russia, it was USSR - a union where Ukraine was a major part of it. These days Russians try to pretend like they alone defeated Nazis, and all others were on the other side, but it's not true, besides Russia was not the part of USSR that suffered the most from Nazi invasion, Ukraine, Baltics and especially Belarus lost much higher percentage of population than Russia.

@Thrinkethrinke Depends. For my particular country WWII started with Soviet ultimatum and occupation, and this Soviet-Nazi-Soviet occupation lasted to 1991, former Soviet, now Russian forces left only in 1994.

Bomb is not really an option, as it takes an effort to get materials without rising suspicion and to make a bomb, it takes determination and log term planning. Can happen, sure, but it's not like "I'm mad, and I'm gonna settle the score with the cruel world right now!!!!" type of thing, which can be done with a readily available gun. However, I don't think guns is the only and the main issue here. American healthcare system sucks ass, so yes, there are crazy people walking around. Besides it's down to inequality - in very unequal societies with inequality of opportunities (education, healthcare (yes, again that comes up) and all types of prejudice), people tend to blame others, and to kill others as the result; where in countries where there are pretty equal opportunities and relatively equal income, people blame themselves, since almost everything has been given to them, yet they failed, so they kill themselves (that's the case in places like Scandinavia and Japan). Now add guns to this equation, and the fact, that of all developed nation USA has the highest inequality rate, also the most religious, in both those criteria USA is like some third world nation, they are a bit savage as the result. So, sorry (not), but "father figure" idea is plain bullshit.

I strongly suspect, that the first one isn't just for the purpose of "recycling", it might indicate anti-personell use - a HE / fragmenting mortar round instead of standard anti-armour shaped charge one of RPG-7. P.S. Watched the video a little further, and basically our dear host said pretty much the same, especially when the second type of round with grenades taped to it showed up.

Well, yes, Sudayev was a genius indeed. As some Rusisan arms enthusiansts wrote, it's sort of shame and a reaosn for pride at the same time, that even by 1990s and 2000s ППС-43 was still the best SMG in their arsenal. There were some noteworthy firearms in 9x18 and 9x19 calibers, yet that old one held it's own.

The last one wasn't a "Makarov, but a traumatic pistol (травматический пистолет) based on one. "Traumatic weapon" is a special kind of less lethal devices shooting rubber bullets, used in some countries, including Russia, where civilians hardly can carry real handguns, but "less lethal" does not mean it can't kill at all, it's specifically forbidden to shoot even an attacker in the head, and that guys shot his own head from a short distance and in a weak spot - the temple. So he was either killed or severely injured, I have no idea what exactly his fate was.

Emmmm, seening logos of state owned Russian companies in an intro of a movie often is a bad sign. Thing is, it's often is more abou funneling state funds, than making movie itself, so the actual product is made funded by leftovers. Coruption rules! (not)

What about the opposite idea - following the trend of calibres going small, high capacity, but with a really hot rounds and thus making an assault rifle for the FN 5,7 or HK 4,6 ammo? I guess the biggest issue then would not be even bolt and barrel, but a reliable magazine for 5,7, if that calibre is chosen, although, maybe one could be made by chopping off the feed lips from a 5-7 pistol one.
