  1. Yeap, we can own and carry guns in my country (North-East Europe, just next to Russia), and our police has full auto AKs (but you will seldom see them carrying those, except on parades). Yet gun crime is rare, and if something does happen, it's a sensation all over the media.

  2. Going for food to USA?! Are you out of your mind? There might be a large variety, but large variety of crap isn't really appealing, even fast food is better outside USA in the very same "restaurant" chains. OK, I'm sure it's not all bad, but it's definitely not the biggest selling point of USA, those could be your national parks and nature.
