"Hordes of enemies" in this case is pretty accurate for situation arond Bahmut. As Ukrainian spokesman said: "The only way I can describe it is - zombie apocalypse". Waves of soldiers running towards machineguns. Sometimes it's a bit more reasonable, yet stupid anyway - send some soldiers with spades, they start entraching themselves, then Ukrainians take them out. Russians send next crew, who continue digging, and... If one has a lot of people, it is possible to make a new trench system closer to enemy this way, problem being - Russia is big, but not infinitely big, they got only 3,5 times population that of Ukraine.

Or they just are saying as it is and send photos as proof (but those can't be displayed on social networks and get removed automatically (I know, I've tried)).
And no, Russia would not have been out of men by now, as they lose "only" around 200 personnel in Bahmut area each day, while elsewhere it's pretty much standstill, thus it would take over 4 month at least to wipe them all out, IF they were all used in the idiotic way. But yes, the proportion of losses is not in Russia's favor, it seems Russia can't beat a country that is not at least 5 (better make it 7) times smaller by population, while Ukraine is only 3,5 times smaller, thus throwing cannon fodder at then does not and will not work.
