Being "too Marxist" in supposedly Communist country is not weird, actually, it's the same and even worse in DPRK - one can not get Marx's and Lenin's writings in public libraries, only in specialized ones with restricted access. Thing is, it's likely based on Soviet experience with 1960s dissidents, intelligentsia who had read Marx, Engels, Lenin etc and found out, that there are a lot of deviations form the original idea in the Soviet ideology. Just as USSR from mid 1940s, China isn't really a Communist, internationalist country, it's an empire now, while DPKR has became a kingdom of Kim dynasty.
