@Progan666
It's quite different for generations that knew life before Soviets came and those who grew up in that situation. Of course, families are different, but I'd say many didn't tell their kids that not everything on media wasn't true, plainly out of fear, that kid will not keep the mouth shut, which makes sense. I was one such kid. Besides, for a really naive and honest person it was and sort of still is hard to believe, people can lie so terribly.
On the bright side, because I went through that process of illusion shattering in 1980s, I grew up an anti-Communist and I hope also somewhat more resistant to propaganda, at least certain kinds of it, after receiving such a "vaccine".
What I don't get is, how some older Russian people fell again for the same trap. They again are buying fairytales if Kremlin's TV. How?! I have a couple of such persons in my extended family. They should remember, how it was and how it ended before, and yet they don't. Obviously, living in information bubble, an echo chamber is to blame - only one source, only on Russian (I get news in three languages), and bias of preferences which makes them seek only certain kinds of information, refusing anything else. Pretty much the same as some right and left wing idiots do too, who blame here CNN for propaganda or call anyone not left enough "fascists". XD
