  1. The 1st one could be misleading, as it very much depends on what they call "a promotion". Maybe they love to throw people around inside company, filling positions, thus supposedly saving money, instead of hiring people with actual education and experience in the field. I guess it is not the case in big corporations, but in a small company the boss might have that belief, that hope for a simple employee being a hidden gem, so he/she tries again and again to promote some people from a simple worker to a one of the manager positions.

  2. First one feels useless or rather - aimed at specific professions demanding a particular set of skills, yet not all professions are the same.
