A couple of objections: 1) bread mare at industrial scale canbe just as tasty as one from small bakeries; 2) it's not just wheat, here up Notth and to the East rye is very popular, it's so called "black bread". P.S. And no, sliced bread does not spoil faster. You Americans are weird, you blame industry, when it's down to recipe - fluffy, sugary "stuff" instead of proper bread, that's it, there is nothing more to it. Just like your soft-drinks and everything else contain more sugar and "fillers".
