I don't know about others, but it seems like when I chew, it somehow suppresses sickness, so I would not go with empty stomach to her lectures in the first place, and second - I''d take some snack with me or at least a chewing gum. Or nothing, actually - I've been to my kids birth through all that process and also cut umbilical cord.
