  1. Well, if I was a nerd... It would be impractical to do this directly, because work (action) depends on cosine of the angle the force is applied, so the greater the angle, the less impulse is transferred to the slide (at 90° cos=0 and no force is transferred). Thus the result being - little or no kick being absorbed by the movement of the slide while little or no power to reload is transferred. Impractical, unless you want to use some overpowered cartridge or very light slide, then... who knows.
