  1. Sure, it's not impossible, but a rimmed cartridge for a SMG doesn't sound like a good idea. Besides Soviet 7.62x25 round was purposely designed for SMGs, so it's not a fair comparison.

  2. Haven't heard about it before, so I got lost, sorry. Now, after being hinted I found, that's 1927 model, which never was officially accepted into service, but still was used during WWII. It wasn't shooting Nagant rounds as they were and as would be possible with almost any other revolver round, cases (but not their bottom part, which I thought would cause trouble, so I was wrong on that) were modified - necked a bit, to ensure better feed, yet still failed at that.

I actually toyed with an idea of a simple device for box magazines that would sort rimmed cartridges (revolver rounds, shells, .22 etc) just before feeding them so in the box they would lie in whatever messy order... with no success, as far as I can judge from a primitive CAD simulation, turns out it's not so simple. 8D No wonder nobody seems to have made it. I believe it would be possible, however, with a little force added, but then it's impossible to use in an unmodified gun like 10-22.
