  1. I never quite understood why nobody used (sure I know only Webley-Fosbery and Mateba) gas operation instead of recoil for self-loading revolvers. might be wrong, but wasn't adding a muzzle device + rod (sort of a cousin of the "Desert Eagle") simpler than "sawing" revolver in two?
