  1. SaltyWaffles It's only impractical for small arms, Soviet/Russian automatic grenade launchers (AGS-17, AGS-30) have been using caseless ammo for some time. Except it's not exactly "caseless", some call it ammo with "fly away case" - instead of small cavity on it's back, or solid brick of propellant (like in German G11), projectile has whole case containing propellant attached to it. So there is no much win on weight, but no need for extraction and ejection either. Anyway, let's wait and see if LSAT program is just another experiment or will it come to fruition.

  2. EllAntares Wasn't it about separate loading on IS like on naval guns and other artillery? If you call that "caseless", then muzzle-loaders from XIV century use "caseless" ammo too.   8D
