Funny, in Russian "davka" (давка) means "a crush" or "a stampede", which in a way makes sense.

@66MetalDevil6 I don't think it's that hard, as to me personally it reminds "zicher", so it's not that confusing. But yes, in other Slavic languages "zastrelit" / "застрелить" also means "to shoot down (someone)".

@bogdanbogdanoff5164 Well, in my native Latvian, which is not a Slavic language, but still has common roots, it's "deva", from "dot" - "to give", like Slavik "davat" or "davatj", while in Latvian "dāvāt" is to present something, to give away for free. It got to have a common Indo-European origin.
