pietzeekoe To me it doesn't look so unique, maybe for a weapon it is, but it looks like a cheap car with "Ferrari" sunshades, wheel covers and other stuff all over it, or like kids use to "improve" things with stickers, or like on Soviet block some counterfeit production was made looking cooler by using fake Western brands on it. BTW, don't believe movie."Moscow on the Hudson" (1984): a) nobody here had heard about "Calvin Klein" (I believe that was just a lame product placement), we believed the top of the tops jeans were "Montana" and b) there was no queueing after toilet paper, we had cheap and soft Soviet newspapers.

Forgotten Weapons Speaking of unlicensed production. Maxim Popenker once mentioned in his blog, he always has been under the impression, that Finland bought licence and documentation to manufacture their own version of AK, then Israel contacted and bought a licence and documentation from them and made "Galil" on the base of Finnish assault rifle, and finally, "Galil" in turn spawned some South African weapons. Questionable part here being, he never encountered any mention of Soviet-Finnish deal (maybe someone even denied there has been one, don't remember that part), so... Were Finnish RK series licensed or counterfeit?
