IMO, as "instinctive" these sights suck. I'd design both rear and front sights as rings, so you just have to align them in a concentric pattern, having them look about the same size (which means that the from one has to be bigger, since it's further from shooter's eye) would help too. A couple of months ago I got my hands on "Minimi", those sights are pretty much what I was thinking of as my ideal, loved them, no shooting though, it was just a public even of our armed forces and police, some US paratroopers participated too.
