  2. +Farley Moab Pff, that's just an engineering problem, not an impossible barrier. Stronger springs, gas seal break/lock as on some weapons (not an option for Luger obviously, which lacks slider, unless one manages to hide something like that in the frame), big muzzle devices, maybe led or even depleted uranium weights to increase inertia and make recoil more tolerable.

  3. It is! Besides, handguns in .454 Casull exist, while impractical, they are nowhere near as terrible as you are implying.
