  1. I recommend "Cowan"s War. The Story of British Naval Operations in the Baltic, 1918-1920" - it's a fascinating read, giving insight from a perspective of someone actually participating in those events. I read it in Latvian translation. And a small technicallity - nobody was figting to join USSR back in 1918-1920, as USSR as a "union" was established only in 1922.
