I wonder if lobsters became a delicacy due to high demand and becoming rare or was it a marketing that created hype and drove price up?
I mean, it's not unheard of, when some cheap, worthless crap becomes and expensive thing. Take coconut oil, for example. By saturated and unsaturated fatty acid balance it's terrible, it's worse than palm oil (which is cheap), worse than animal fat products, basically it should be worthless crap, yet due to hype, proclaiming it a "wonder food" and ""healthy" (which it's not), it now costs a lot.
