  1. I mean. Putin did born in 1952. So it genuinely could be Leningrad. World actually massively changed in last several decades, with Soviet Union being somewhat frozen in time until collapse in 1989. I speak that from experience.

  2. Yes. Lack of toilet paper was real thing back then. Gorbachev initially believed that home appliances were western propaganda. Not only there was lack of everything, but last decades were extremely behind. West did have Play Staion as far as 1995. Soviet Union just discovered color TV and Chinese knock off of Famicom.

  3. Movie of course is exaggerated. Anecdotes about Putin are fake. Like he can't actually shot. There is video of that. He was a pencil pusher in German Embassy. And I'm fairly sure rich people did have toilet paper. It is majority of population who needed count leaves, because production numbers were made by fossil remembering WW2.
