From what I understand Shinto do not deny existence of all other deities, only focus on specific branch of those specific to Japan. Worth to mention that Shinto has something similar to primordial god in form of Ame-no-Minakanushi. Who simply is seen as too important to deal with matters of the world. And as such descendants of Isanagi were delegated to this duty in Japan. And even they delegated other spirits to deal with every day life matters.

I personally consider this theory highly likely. Starting from Herod actions, what did not affected common people. So King of Angels, King of Creation and Arbiter. And they as a whole do represent true God, not each of them individual. In this context humanity of Christ is part of his role as Arbiter, not the inherit trait of the God. Basically God died on cross, so no one could use argument that God do not know how is to be and suffer as human, because he literally did. Of course that is just a point of view.

The way I classify things is that Anti-theists are those who actively fight with concept of the God/gods. Hard Atheists are those who make personal study to conclude that they in fact do not believe. When Soft Atheists simply do not believe, as they never put though in the subject. As side note there is here also distinct group of Crypto-Atheists who don't believe despite being active members of the religions (not confuse with non theists what are religions not focused on the deities, like Buddhism). Agnostics are in fact not about believe or especially the middle ground. But the conviction that revelation sources and prophecies are flawed, no matter if deity exist or not. It is why Agnostics are Theistic (believe despite denying sources) or Atheistic (don't believe because of lacking sources).

What I find fascinating is how connected are all religions on the deep level. Not just the idea that singular god is represent by trinity of avatars. One representing sun/order and other moon/chaos with third working as arbiter through series of incarnations (not only Christianity, but also Hinduism and Shintoism share this idea, also present in the Kabbalah). But also concept of god being represent by elementar beings, known as Living Beasts (Cherubim in Christianity), what have clear paralel to Chinese Four Symbols (I have no idea that they were related to Jade Emperor and speaking of him, bible does mention emerald throne of God).

My opinion. First of, neither deeds or faith bring salvation. Only Jesus. Scripture is rather clear that it is God, who would judge our souls based on intentions, so if we actually are or try to be good people, rather then what we did or if we believe. Secondary. Scripture was written primarily for goat farmers and old Jewish temple. There is merit in argument that role of Church is interpretations of specific events in the bible basing on educated analyze, rather then arbitrarily interpretations of something written for completely different culture. Even if it is true that Church at the time did go too far due to corruption and infighting between different Popes (detail lot of people forget). Counter-Reformation actually recognized some justified complains and solve problem of multiple Popes. About Kelvinist predestination. It is based on misinterpretation. Though it is true that God know everything, God can everything and as he exist bound time, creation was in a sense concluded. But we still are ones who make the decisions. Whole argument seams to be rather attempt of answering on faith vs deeds debate and making things worst. In the end it is redundant debate, because it doesn't really matter.

Not sure if you have mentioned that, but there is actually a evidence for Jesus being related to Romans. Peter was a Roman citizen, it is why when servants of temple come to arrest Jesus, they were surprised when Peter pulled gladius on them. Later priests realized that they can't safely prosecute Jesus and send him to Pilatus. Who would normally not bother with trial or random zealot, until Jesus himself was Roman citizen. What actually was quite likely as his family moved to Egipt. And Jesus returned only prior to his ministry. Later also Peter again show in Pilatus palace, what would not be possible if he was not the Roman. Where he is recognized and denounce Jesus three times. Anyway. Even if Jesus did exist, he did try bring peace in the area. Hard to deny that.
