This video make a lot of bad assumptions. But those are common misconceptions in SF. First of in high gravity light need spend more energy/time to overcome pull of gravity. It is why things seams to move slower then they actually are. Furthermore event horizon is place is where gravity is so high that light can't escape. But it mean that what you would see would be compressed ball of what was once a spacecraft. Assuming it would not be torn apart before that. So in practice it is not as magical as people think. They issues start when we bring clerktech to compensate those effects, but assume assume it still would work the same way. Same is also true on atomic level. Electrons in high speed suffer on same problem as helicopter blades when it move fast, which tips go supersonic affecting flight parameters. Similar effect affect atoms going near speed of light, as speed slow down internal spin of electrons.
