@mikeonb4c To be clear we can't actually blame Chamberlain. The line of logic he fallow at time, was solid. UK was vastly unprepared for war (French also despite attempts of DeGaule), they in fact intentionally attempt delay tactic. With hope that Hitler starting another wars on East, would weaken German enough so they could catch up. The problem is that in hindsight this approach was really horrible. Easy conquests give Germany massive resources rob with reserves of Eastern European states. And as result Germany build its army in monster British though it was. It is in fact relatively modern revision of historical data, what show that initial strength of Germany was exaggerated. German mechanization was limited and most of resources were still pushed by horses. In reality it was Hitler who was stalling British, with ilusion of strong army. If French would enter during attack on Poland. Germany would collapse. But French were unprepared for the war, to degree far worst then UK. This lead finally to Dunkirk disaster. Where UK and French lost most of they current forces. And it was not that French didn't fight, they strategy simply didn't consider German breakthrough. What lead to myth of Blitzkrieg.

@phild3936 France lost battle in a month. It they did that despite large number of divisions and fact that enemy just suffered catastrophic losses in Poland. What it say about state of preparations of they forces? De Gaule was openly criticizing approach of French at the time. What you do not understand?

@Rob-y9p Russians are threat, because they are delusional enough that they could try attack US (I remind that they claim Alaska) resulting with death of numerous Americans. And yes. In long run they can't win, but here the delusional part play crucial role. They think that they can and they may try. That make Russia a threat in long run.

@phild3936 First of lack of proper reaction of West against Hitler's threat, was that caused WW2. If Hitler would face proper reaction, it is entirely possible that there would be no war. As Germany was way weaker back then and become strong only thanks to massive plunder of East Europe. Secondary, do not repeat Soviet propaganda! Poland did not cooperated with Germany in Czechoslovakia and its claims to Zaolzie was neither a secret or a controversy. Because Poland didn't know about Munch Agreement, when Germany entered Czechia they wanted save they citizens from falling under Nazi control. And it is not that Poles are proud of this part of history. Especially as region was almost transferred diplomatically, but history did go the way it did.
