@DKBZA Only because they can't. Not that they don't want to. And yes. Chinese warships were snooping near US military bases.

@simonyip5978 China patrolling is not a problem. Problem is that China try illegitimately size control over Chinese sea. China has second strongest Navy same way as Russia is second strangest Military. Yes, they have many ships, but they also have rather liberal counting method. Many of those ships don't exactly hold standard. Those naval experts considering it as capable are most likely Russian or Ethiopian. Pakistan what bough several "next-gen" Frigates was seriously complaining about they quality. Number of Carriers isn't exactly determinant of quality. Rather what fighters they can launch, how effectively and for what reason. China still didn't show particular understanding of navy doctrines (eghm... Coastal Destroyers). Also for reminder US has 20 Carriers, half of those are Supercarriers (China has one diesel). US allies also could scramble dozen of those, even India has two. China is not yet there to even try challenge US on sea. For reminder Russia is third and they lost flagship to country without navy.

@DKBZA US has basses in Indochina. I seriously don't think that Chinese warships actually could reach US coastline.

@ericwong4213 That not even including Taiwan (Japan, Korea, Philippines, F@! India). Whole drama about Formoza become relevant only because of microchips.

Media in general should not be threaten seriously.

In case of invasion on Taiwan NATO would not be involved. But US and Taiwan have defensive pact, so intervention would be direct, unlike on Ukraine.

@qianyoupan7787 Yes. China basically depleted what Russia can offer. At this point Russia is a junior state to China (aka colony).
