Inherited wealth - whether that's an account at one of those small wealth managers that handles UHNWIs, or business interests in a sole proprietorship or partnership - I think actually is the exception, because you then make the decision to live off what her father built and will leave to her. I have known two guys like that personally. One guy cashed his nuts at the door - but he's got a job through his inlaws' connections that is mostly about getting some daddy time at a little office and chilling out - whereas the other puts more actual work in, despite his lack of a formal title, and his job role amounts to having one fight each day with his wife over access to her father's wealth.
